So remember when I posted this image on my blog? Those two images and a couple of others were actually samples that I sent to be considered as an artist in the upcoming Shadowhunter’s Codex, a guide to the world created by Cassandra Clare. And indeed, I am one of the illustrators! Along with Rebecca Guay, Charles Vess, Michael Kaluta, Theo Black, John Dollar, Jim Nelson, and Cassandra Jean. Some AMAZING illustrators, and I am awestruck that my work will be included in a book with them.
The Shadowhunter’s Codex will be published by Simon & Schuster sometime in fall 2013. I am contributing sixteen illustrations and am currently hard at work on them.
Also awesome, when Ms. Clare announced the book on her tumblr, she used my illustration of Alicante!! So now all these blogs rehashing the details have been using the image as well. Pretty cool. Anyway I am incredibly excited to be a part of this book and to help imagine the world of the Shadowhunters within the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series.
