New Art: Astrifiammante, the Queen of the Night

Here is my second painting of the Queen of the Night. She is often given the name Astrifiammante, which means “Star-blazing.” This painting is 11.75 x 19, so pretty large for me!

It was painted with watercolor, black ink, matte medium, and acryla gouache. Here are some progress shots:

This was the digital sketch - I ended up changing how her moon horn 'connected' to her head, and her necklace and hand.

The final drawing, which I also did digitally. I printed it and transferred it onto the watercolor paper with graphite paper.

And here's a photo of my work area, while I was painting it!
