Tarot Update – One Year Left!

Hi All!

So I just realized today marks another important date, besides being the last day of 2014 – I have exactly one more year to complete the tarot deck, which is due on this day in 2015. WOO! I also realized I haven’t updated this blog in a while. I have been hard at work on the tarot deck, on a new personal piece which I hope to share soon, and the holidays have really taken some time out of my work schedule. But I have kept on track with my personal goal of completing all of the swords and some pentacles by this time.

The suit of swords is complete!

They are all done with pen and ink and watercolor. I still have trouble believing I will have 79 more paintings in storage at the end of 2015. They will all be for sale though! :D

And I have all of the rough sketches done for pentacles:

This group is going to be so much fun to draw and paint!!! I love the 4, 5, and 8 of pentacles especially. The 10 is going to be an epic (but fun!) challenge, because it features all four court characters, a baby, two cats, a dog, and a full background – WHEW! The queen was completed in the summer when I had to do it as a sample. You can see I changed the color of her gown and cloak because the author had decided later what colors all the characters would be wearing in the suit.

The author, Deborah, and I are planning on making occasional posts about how we work together and how the progress goes, from text to final image, but we haven’t had a moment to do that yet, so stay tuned!

Happy New Year!!!

  1. I missed this post somehow (end of season crazy, step-daughter’s visit, death of cat). I’m amazed when I see all the progress in one place! We may actually end up finishing ahead of schedule :-)

(And sorry about the 10 of Pentacles, but you have to admit it is going to be great!)
