Sketch of the Day Part 1

The tarot project for Llewellyn does not leave me much time for personal work, but I have been doing daily sketches! For Christmas, Scott got me (and himself) the One Sketch A Day: A Visual Journal sketchbook, published by Chronicle Books. I have never been much of a sketcher. I’ve always had trouble just sitting down and drawing whatever comes to mind. I’m better at doodling when I have a purpose. But this sketchbook has been great, and I’m excited to actually have a full complete sketchbook at the end of the year! I don’t doodle from imagination in it as much as I would like, but I figure any kind of drawing is good drawing (and worthwhile practice). So here is a selection so far!

All but the bottom of these photos were taken for instagram (my username there is e.alba.art) hence the square shape and filter effect.

I usually work with pencil, but also use micron pens and ballpoint pens.

  1. I love love love these! I think the dog is my favorite, but the fox princess is pretty fab too. Maybe I should have you doodle me :-)

  2. I love the picture of the your friends selfie. She looks like a strong character. I also like the picture of your friend Owen. That was very fun.
